Combining the grit of alternative rock with tropical tones of the Caribbean, Daria and the Hip Drops have been rocking the New Orleans scene since 2010. Inspired by artists like No Doubt, The Talking Heads, Toots & the Maytals and The Arctic Monkeys, Daria and the Hip Drops released their debut album “Hipnotic” in 2015 to roaring success, including being named one of Jimmy Buffett’s favorite bands. At the forefront of this musical odyssey stands the dynamic Daria Dzurik, a charming frontwoman whose vocal melodies are as captivating as the resonant steel drum beats she commands. The vibrant hooks are not only uplifting, but rebellious as they are carefree. The group has continued to carve out their niche on the New Orleans music scene, delivering their feel-good vibes alongside the likes of Tank & the Bangas, Dumpstaphunk, and Cowboy Mouth. The group also closed out the Lagniappe stage at Jazz Fest after its epic post-covid return in 2022. Daria and the Hip Drops are currently working on their next album, due to be released in 2024.
